1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Skoru ("the Service"), including our mobile applications (iOS, Android, WearOS, Apple Watch), web application, and website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
Skoru is operated by Skoru ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Skoru.
2. Account Registration
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You may register using:
- Phone number with OTP verification (via WhatsApp or SMS)
- Google Sign-In
- Apple Sign-In
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Subscription Plans & Billing
Skoru offers the following subscription tiers:
- Starter (Free) — Basic scoring features with limited game history and no cloud sync.
- Pro ($4.99/month) — Cloud sync, live web scoreboard, custom rules, social features, and more.
- Business ($14.99/month) — Unlimited active games, tournament management, custom branding, API access, and priority support.
Auto-Renewal
Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will be charged the applicable subscription fee through your app store account (Google Play or Apple App Store).
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your app store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Refunds
Refund requests are handled by the respective app store (Google Play or Apple App Store) according to their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Any price changes will be communicated in advance and will apply to the next billing cycle after the notice period.
4. User Responsibilities
When using the Service, you agree to:
- Use the Service only for its intended purpose of tracking and sharing sports scores
- Provide accurate game data and player information
- Respect other users and maintain appropriate conduct
- Not impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity
- Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws
5. Content Ownership & License
Your Content
You retain ownership of all game data, scores, player names, team names, and other content you create through the Service ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, display, and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.
Our Content
The Skoru name, logo, app design, sport scoring engines, website content, and all associated intellectual property remain the exclusive property of Skoru. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our content without prior written consent.
Web Scoreboard Watermark
All web live scoreboards display a "Powered by Skoru" watermark across all paid tiers. This watermark cannot be removed. Business users may add their own branding alongside the watermark.
6. Acceptable Use Policy
You may not use the Service to:
- Upload, transmit, or share offensive, abusive, harassing, or discriminatory content
- Manipulate or falsify game scores for fraudulent purposes (e.g., gambling fraud)
- Spam, phish, or conduct any form of social engineering against other users
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
- Circumvent rate limits, subscription restrictions, or security measures
- Use the API (Business tier) in a manner that violates these Terms or applicable law
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who violates this policy, including removing content, suspending accounts, and reporting to law enforcement.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with or rely on third-party services, including:
- Google Play Store and Apple App Store for app distribution and payments
- Google and Apple for social login authentication
- WhatsApp for OTP delivery
- Cloud infrastructure providers for data storage and processing
Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the actions or policies of third-party services.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
- Fraudulent or illegal activity
- Extended period of inactivity (accounts inactive for more than 12 months)
- Non-payment of subscription fees
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or through the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain your data for a reasonable period as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Game scoring calculations are based on official sport rules as implemented in our sport engines, but we do not guarantee absolute accuracy for official competition use.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SKORU AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Skoru and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
